Afghanistan: Urgent Need for Safe Facilities for Female Police

SUMMARY:

They ask the police chief to put separate facilities for women cops to man, but these suggestions in the past had been ignored.

In Afghanistan it’s very common sexual harassment against women. The fact that women are vulnerable to police who haven’t insurance and separate bathrooms.

Since there are so few women cops in Afghanistan is difficult to reach that goal. But this goal would have to meet as a symbol to end the violence of women and for doesn’t discrimination. It does a law against female abuse but isn’t properly applied.

Under the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, women remained largely out of the workplace, including the police force. Normally abuses against women aren’t reported.

The 10 of April in 2013, the Kabul Police Chief Lt. Gen. Mohammad Ayoub Salangi issued an order to all police stations under his command in Kabul province employing women must immediately provide a changing room and toilet separate private by women officers, to promote the welfare of women police.

OPINION:

I don’t believe that nowadays there aren’t separation between facilities for women and men. I think man and woman are the same, because woman is human being also. The government will have more strong laws for security all. Afghanistan is one of the countries where religion and culture out because they believe that women serve only to clean and they are home. A few years ago recognized the human rights of women, eventhough that not all countries are met.

Shark killings exceed 100m every year as humans become the predators

SUMMARY:

Some studies show that at year 100 million sharks killed. Some biologists call for measures against such acts, because some species may become extinct shark. Sharks are caught for their meat, liver oil, cartilage, and especially their fins. These products are sold in the black market at a high price. Many sharks are thrown into the sea, when you have cut the fins. The U.S. is the country where the crime was committed more. The proposed saving sharks in 2010 were rejected but the organization insists CITES.

The rhino horn is in high demand, and multiplied the killing of rhinoceros. The horn of this animal is in high demand for drugs.

OPINION:

Rhino horn is used to cure diseases, I think that is fine but without killing everyone because they can die. The theme of this evil sharks being killed each year and also multiplies the killing of sharks. We must learn to respect the nature. This well at least have people who care organizations for the environment. I think it isn’t fair and you have to respect all living things.

Walmart hit by Black Friday strikes across 46 states, say protesters

SUMMARY:

Giant Retail Walmart has been hit by protests and strikes by stores in the U.S. on Black Friday, the busiest shopping day in the retail calendar.

The protests began on Thursday as they announced that in Thanksgiving Day they would have to work.

Walmart workers in Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, Texas, Bay Area of California, Chicago, Washington and other cities participated in the walk out to protest over wages and working conditions.

The executive director of Walmart said they had a very successful black day very safe in all stores nationwide. He also announced that at least 50 workers went to protest.

Workers announce that they suffer from harassment and abuse. They also are threaten to shorten the hours and wages.

Some of the protesters say they are seeing changes slowly there.

PERSONAL OPINION:

Not only in America but also in many other countries, people are realizing that things are not going well. The only solution I found for people to the problems of today is going out and protests. I think the protests, strikes and demonstrations work, but the changes aren’t drastic. We will observe that the things change gradually.
